Finished Seminar #3 with Shari Berkowitz.  One of many to come.  I've never worked so hard, and felt so energized about Pilates.  I can't wait to take another session.  How often do you walk in with a smile, smile during the entire session while you are sweating bullets, and smile on the way out?

Group classes at Pilates on Fifth are too much fun.  Silks, CoreAlign, Mat, Reformer and Chair.  See my calendar for times.  Class Pass, Fit Reserve, sign up as well!  Our schedule is loaded and the environment is stellar!

Got my group fitness class back at Equinox.  Get your burn on the mat at Equinox 33rd and Park Ave on Tuesday nights at 7:30pm -8:15pm.  

 

Everyday Alignment.

Focus on alignment, build strength, increase flexibility, smile and work hard.  Whether in one on one classes, or groups classes, your goals will continually be the foundation of your Pilates sessions.

That's my favorite quote.  I take a tough, but compassionate approach and pay attention to the needs of my client(s).  When you need to feel muscles during a movement, or find a modification to stay safe, or find a new mode to access a movement, I'm there to help.  Other times taking the details out and letting the body move freely, and safely, can benefit you through empowerment.

 

Focused Movements

While I aim to make each session with clients focused for their needs and goals, I also do my diligence in studying up and understanding anatomy.  The body is like a puzzle to me sometimes, through which I sequence in movements or stretches that help clients progress, and link piece to piece to increase efficacy. Aside from seeing people's body change, it is awesome to watch the body connect, learn, and progress.

 

I just like to move.

I intended to be working to better the environment, and become a city planner, but then I discovered how movement was so much fun for me to do, and to teach.  I don't want to sit down all day; I want to move.   I want to make other people move.  In the future I'm sure I'll find a place to combine both interests, before or after I one day become a professional dancer. Personal training and deeper study into kinesiology is definitely in my future.
